Autumn in West Hampstead

In 2023, a long-standing relationship turned into a meaningful new chapter when a family -known to Dutch & Dutch for many years - invited us to manage their substantial residential portfolio of 77 Assured Shorthold Tenancies. Built and acquired gradually over four decades, this collection spans 29 buildings across NW10 and NW2, ranging from self-contained apartments and family homes to HMOs and purpose-built blocks of flats.

What has always set this portfolio apart is the family’s approach. Over the years they built genuine, lasting connections with their tenants. They maintained each property with great care, set high standards, and earned a reputation for dignity, respect and fairness. It’s a way of doing things that harks back to a time when landlords knew their tenants by name and took pride in their buildings. Dutch & Dutch were chosen as managing agents because we share those same values.

Since taking on the instruction, our property management, lettings, and accounts teams -alongside the Managing Director - have worked in close partnership with the family office. Together, we’ve ensured the portfolio runs smoothly while preserving the thoughtful, human approach that has always defined it. Our work has focused on strengthening compliance across all buildings, improving net returns, and, above all, maintaining the excellent relationships that already existed with tenants.

Good management rests on consistency, care and respect for what has been built before. It has been a privilege to continue this tradition and support the family office in safeguarding a portfolio that has been nurtured for more than 40 years.

"We picked D&D to manage our portfolio because they are a family business with local expertise, who provide a very high level of service and, importantly, were keen to continue the type of relationships we had built with our long term tenants. We also really appreciate how they value and nurture their staff" (The Client)
